Hello! I’m Jo Moore (CENTRE) the Founder of GAL PAL Academy

GAL PAL Travel Podcast.

I started my life travelling and moving from place to place, as my Dad was in the British Military.

I have travelled extensively and have managed to visit 6 of the 7 continents of the world. I have worked and lived in Australia and tried a variety of travelling styles like backpacking, cruise and adventure holidays’, 5* luxury hotels and camping under the stars.

I love, love, love travel! I love talking about it and I love doing it. It is by far the best way to experience life!!!

Facts about me… are you ready…?

  1. I grew up in the British Military and spent my childhood moving around England, Northern Ireland and Germany. I moved 12 times by the time I was 11 and went to 8 Primary Schools and 2 High Schools…This begun my love for travel and adventure!

  2. I was Cabin Crew for a British Airline where I spent 18 months flying passengers around Europe and Africa and picking up some awesome company freebies along the way.

  3. In July 2012, I had enough of saying “one day I will travel” and started the process of planning a round the world trip with no planned return date.

  4. 3 months after deciding to travel I left the UK flying to my first destination which was China. It was the biggest culture shock of my life and is one of the best countries I have ever been to.

  5. When I was in India, a woman mistook me for someone else and told a “secret” that led me to tick off a major bucket list goal… The secret? The Dalia Lama was home and was doing a special teaching. Not only did I get tickets to his teaching, I also had him wave especially to me…twice!!!

  6. I lived in the Australian desert for 10 months working in a Hotel and experienced having an outside toilet and the extreme heat. An awesome experience and the most beautiful sunrise and sunset.

  7. I mountain biked the most dangerous road in the world; Death Road and fell of the bike one stop from the end. I was very luck to walk away with only a dented knee cap, heavily bruised and a small scar across my side.

  8. I love, love, love spinning! (Indoor biking classes on a static bike). The high intensity training is so satisfying when you make it to the end of the class…and can still walk.

  9. I am a qualified College Lecturer of Travel, Tourism, Cabin Crew Training and Aviation.

  10. I learnt to Salsa dance in Melbourne and still continue to practice my dance moves whenever I get the chance.

Phew! Hope you liked those insights into me and my life!
